U.S. BOX OFFICE RESULTS: 'Neighbors', known as 'Bad Neighbours' here in Australia, had a massive debut for an original R rated comedy ever in the U.S., as it became the second highest grossing orginal comedy, first being 'Ted' in 2012 with $54.4 million. I'm not including 'Sex and the City' because that's more of an adaption of a TV series, than an original film that doesn't have a strong brand name like 'Sex and the City'. 'Spider-Man' took a bit of a stumble, but still a good second weekend as it took a similar fall like 'Iron Man 3' and 'Thor 2' as examples. Let's have a look at this past weekend's top 5. The movies that debutted this weekend are in capitals. 1) NEIGHBORS ($51.1m) 2) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($37.2m) 3) The Other Woman ($9.25m) 4) Heaven is For Real ($7.0m) 5) Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($5.6m) Source: Box Office Mojo | |
