DANIEL'S REVIEW:
“What is it Mr. Peabody”? The big screen adaption of the classic cartoon series titled ‘Peabody’s Improbable History’ in the CGI animated feature film ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’. The movie is about Mr. Peabody adopting a little baby named Sherman and the two travel into various times of the past while using the WABAC. The animation is extremely colourful and vibrant. The voice work is pretty darn good, with praise to Ty Burrell (Modern Family fame). The best part was Mr. Peabody’s relationship with Sherman. The problem I find with the movie is that feels a little disjointed. Jokes try to be funny with a lot of flat jokes, in my opinion, but there were some chuckles that I did enjoy. The story isn’t strong, while the the first hour was enjoyable, it’s just the story isn’t as fleshed out as other animation productions from DreamWorks Animation, like ‘Shrek’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda’. But the last half-hour was incredibly strong which was an incredible ride with jokes being hilarious and fun. This will make kids laugh and adults also laughing at some of its humour, but in my opinion, ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’ should have been a little bit better among the story department, but, it is still fun, colourful and very enjoyable.
Daniel's Score: 6.8/10
